Nice game. ^3^

amazing, easy but perfect desing. 10/10

(+1)

10/10 simple and fun

(+1)

Love the game, very cosy ^^

(+4)

ABC, as easy as 123...

(+1)

I like this game. It's very comfy.

(+1)

So cute! Played for hours! I wish I had some way to mitigate the randomness of the shapes. Thanks for the fun time!

(+1)

I really dislike this game, 115 (A+) my max score and so many tries >_<
(on the road for 120)

Good game but a real time consumer xP

(+1)

98 on my first try, not bad :)

(+1)

Very interesting. I currently work on a game with a very similar artstyle and mechanic. But it's more of a strategy game than a puzzle game.
And always remember, Hexagons are the Bestagons!

(+1)

Yay! Speedrun it!

Nice little game!  I meant to try it out for a little while before bed, and here I am at 3AM coming back out of full screen, lol!  Haven't managed to get over 84 yet, which is frankly a bit embarrassing.  But my scores are still improving, so I'll be back.

I would love to see sound effects added for placing the hexes, something with a bit of pop.  Some sounds for the chaining or growth of houses/parks/dock connections would be great too.  I think with some good sound effects, and a bit of good/bad feedback from particle effects when placing a tile, the scoring could be made more obvious.  I had to read the instructions to understand why windmills were giving me negative points, for example.  The scoring is great, makes sense, and feels well balanced once I understood it though!

It's tempting to request music as well.  Though with how many times I played already, maybe that would just get irritating and take a while to load for not much gain.  It's easy enough to play background music ourselves.

I also second the request for a way back to the menu from in the game.  The instructions are there, so right now we have to refresh the page to go read them.  It would be great if on the game over screen there was a link to the title again.  Alternatively, a quick reference of the scoring values in the game itself through a popup card or something similar could help.

Thanks for a fun evening, and congrats on the jam too!  This is awesome!

Your game runs incredibly slow.

(1 edit)

dont use a 22 year old $13 PC you bought from the granny down the street

then it runs better

This game is a lot of fun!
I feel if there was more visual verticallity in the art style it would look nicer, additionally more polish in the animation would add to the stylized expirience.

This game is quite addicting, great work!

(+3)

Is it possible to get a download?

(+2)

This is actually a good game.

So much fun.

5/5 Stars!

(1 edit) (+1)

After a few tries, I finally have the highest rank!

I realy enjoy the game, it's easy to play but hard to master. A lot of possibilities for only three types of tiles.

(+6)

125!!! First time cracking 120. Addicted to this game!

(+4)

Amazing, that's the highest possible score!! I've never seen that happen before!

(+1)

Wow! I had no idea. Wish I could post a replay of how it came together. Took some big risks (where I placed some pieces knowing I would need a very specific piece to complete an area to get the points I needed) and the last 3 pieces were exactly what I needed. Great game!

(+1)

Great game!

Show post...

I don't know why, but this is addictive for me. anyone else?

(1 edit) (+1)

120! Success! Favorite puzzle game since Tiny Islands. What I would give for an Undo or Next Piece mechanic. XP

(+1)

115! So close. I love this.

(+2)

Finally got 120! Such a great little game. Lots of variety considering there are only 3 types of tiles.

(+1)

Wonderful little game!

i think it would be cool if there was objectives, for example "metropolis: have a city with X houses"

It was very tricky and required no small amount of luck, but I finally attained the loneliest island: a land of grass and stone and lakes, under the shadow of once-mighty wind turbines, whose blades now shift lazily in the gentle breeze.

(+2)

i got it too

(+1)

Thanks for sharing, this kind of thing is so much fun to see!

Thank you for making such an addictive game! It is sadly easier to go the no-wrong-way-to-play route of scoring 0 than to reach the hallowed land of 120+ ;)

impressive

(+2)

I'd buy it on steam if it had many levels with varying goals and more alternative, unique tiles

(+2)

This is a lot of fun, a really cool idea!

(1 edit)

I think I broke the game a little by playing too much because now 105 is less than 100? lol

(+1)

Oh, woah! I'm guessing the last one you placed was a big combo that kept getting you points after the "end"? Thanks for sharing!

(+3)

Nice game!  Love the art style.  Had to read the tutorial to really understand the scoring, but after that I got 108.  Very intuitive control-wise, easily self-discovered the mousewheel, and the "adjacent-only" placement rule.  Nice "push your luck" feeling emerges toward the end, when you have to decide whether to settle or wait for an even better piece.  Great job, lots to like here!

(+4)

Finally. (great game)

(+2)

Congrats!!

(+1)

A very original game!! My congratulations. It just needs to be able to go to the menu from the game.

(+1)

good game i love it :)

(+1)

Nice game.

(1 edit) (+3)

Fun! Just wish I could use A and D instead of the arrow keys

(+1)

Agree on this! It's hard to play for righties. :"))

you can

(+5)

I'm just no good at this game! Image

I've got to say: that's not easy; I'm impressed!  I kept accidentally stranding a windmill or forcing a park.  I got there, but it took some trying.

yeah it was fun. xD it was a nice break from trying to get to 120+. did you manage yet? I got 119, might try again some more tonight. fun to play while watching yt.

Haha, amazing! Good job!

Damn, I'm trying to get 0 points, but I failed like 10 times already. That's quite a challenge :D

(+1)

Super fun, keep up the great work!

(+1)

Fantastic game! Very easy to convince yourself to try just one more round... Love the mechanic of the windmills, nice thematic expression for a hex that wants to be left by itself.

(+1)

I mean, "Hex and the City" was right there as a title!

No, but seriously, I keep coming back to this game.  It's a lot of fun, a great mix of luck and strategy, the perfect length to fit into a quick break (or a long break, if you keep saying "all right, just one more").  Plus the need to score just a little better...I haven't made it to 120 points yet, but I'm really close.  Maybe next time?

Thanks, I'm glad you like it! :) The 120-point threshold is extremely difficult, since you essentially have to get a perfect score with at least 2 of the 3 tile types. Good luck!
